The Vikings continue to list J.J. McCarthy as the backup to Kyler Murray, with coach Kevin O'Connell emphasizing competition in the quarterback room.

Coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed Wednesday that McCarthy has taken all the two reps in practice and performed well. 'There's been some plays where I've been proud as heck,' O'Connell said, according to VikingzFanPage.
