The team has announced a whopping eleven captains for 2026.
They are: quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams, receiver Davante Adams, tight end Tyler Higbee, center Coleman Shelton, defensive end Myles Garrett, defensive tackle Kobie Turner, linebacker Nate Landman, cornerback Trent McDuffie, defensive back Quentin Lake, and long snapper Joe Cardona.
Few if any teams have ever had that many captains. For whatever reasons, the Rams have decided to have that many players with a "C" on their jerseys.
Conspicuous in their omission are defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who is returning after a two-year retirement, and receiver Puka Nacua, one of the best receivers in the NFL.
Falcons sign LB Josh Woods to active roster, place LB JD Bertrand on IR
The Falcons signed veteran linebacker Josh Woods from their practice squad to their 53-player roster on Monday night, the team announced.
In a corresponding move, the Falcons placed third-year linebacker JD Bertrand on the reserve/injured list. Bertrand's injury is undisclosed.
He is required to miss at least four games before returning.
Woods has spent the past two seasons in Atlanta and has become a core special teams player. He played 82 percent of special teams snaps in the 12 games he was active last season.
Woods registered 14 total tackles.
He entered the league in 2019 as an undrafted free agent with the Bears. He has played for four different teams in his seven NFL seasons, compiling 137 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
The Falcons have two spots on their practice squad.

His spark has energized the rest of the lineup, as seven of nine Cubs starters hit home runs against the Brewers. With Monday night’s win, the Cubs still remain seven games behind the Brewers in the NL Central. However, they hold a comfortable five-game cushion over the Arizona Diamondbacks and San Diego Padres for the top Wild Card spot. With Chicago's offense firing on all cylinders, the Cubs are building the kind of momentum that wins in October. If Crow-Armstrong and company can sustain this production, nobody will want to face them come playoff time and that includes the World Series-favorite Dodgers.
