Liverpool boss Slot confirms Isak available for PSG clash
Arne Slot has confirmed that Alexander Isak is fit to play a part for Liverpool at Paris Saint-Germain tonight.
Liverpool make the tough trip to the Champions League holders for the first leg of their quarter-final tie.
The Reds are seeking to bounce back from a humbling FA Cup exit to Manchester City at the weekend, and have lost four of their last seven games across all competitions.
However, Slot’s squad has been boosted by the return of record signing Isak. The Swedish striker has been sidelined since December after undergoing surgery for a fractured fibula and ankle issue.
After a full week of first-team training, Isak has travelled to Paris and is ready to feature at the Parc des Princes.
“[Isak] finished close to a week of team training sessions now, so he can play a part. Otherwise, I wouldn’t take him,” Slot said to the media.
“I decided not to take him to the Etihad because we felt in talks with the player, medical, performance staff that he wasn’t able to get a performance out of him yet.
“And since he’s with us now, we do think that we can get a performance out of him now. But not to start – that [would] be clear.”
In terms of absences, first-choice goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains out. Giorgi Mamardashvili is in line to replace the Brazilian, Elsewhere, Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni are also in the treatment room.

United outline firm stance in Rashford talks
However, it’s thought they’re unwilling to even shell out the fee.
Reports have suggested that Barcelona would like to take Rashford on loan for another campaign or negotiate a lower price tag.
They won’t get much joy with either option, though, as Manchester United are completely closed off to both.
The Red Devils have made it clear they will only facilitate Rashford’s departure if their demands are met. Otherwise, they’re happy for him to return to Carrington at the end of the term in order for INEOS chiefs to find an alternative suitor for him.

In the meantime, the 28-year-old added to his account for the Blaugrana in their crunch La Liga clash away to Atletico Madrid on Saturday night, scoring an equaliser in the first half before Robert Lewandowski secured the win in the closing stages.

The victory meant that Barcelona extended their gap atop the table to seven points over second-placed Real Madrid.

What did Ferdinand have to say about Rashford and Barcelona?
When weighing in on the United graduate’s potential permanent switch to Camp Nou, Ferdinand said (as cited by Manchester Evening News): “If Barcelona get him for the reported £26m that we’re talking about, and they get that version of Marcus Rashford (who scored vs Atletico), that is an absolute robbery, it’s a steal.
“So, as I said, I’ll just say good luck to him, I want him to do well, you know what I mean? Because I’ve seen him grow as a young player at Man United, and good luck to him in that sense.”

'Bumrah had no visible plan': Irfan Pathan explains how Sooryavanshi forced world's best to rethink
Sooryavanshi grabbed headlines when he took on Jasprit Bumrah, widely regarded as the world’s best bowler, he smashed him for two sixes in a single over. Facing Bumrah for the first time in the IPL, the young left-hander launched the very first ball he faced over long-on for a stunning six, a shot that even drew a smile from the Indian pace spearhead.
After rotating strike briefly with opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi once again took on Bumrah on the 4th ball of same over. Anticipating a slower delivery, he picked it early and launched it into the midwicket stands, marking two sixes. Sooryavanshi’s innings was short but electrifying. He scored a blistering 39 off just 14 balls before being dismissed by Shardul Thakur, caught in the deep.
'He was waiting for Bumrah' - Pathan
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Pathan revealed that Sooryavanshi had been preparing for this moment.
“This 15-year-old wonder kid says, ‘I am waiting for Jasprit Bumrah. I got out to him last year. I will come this year and hit him.’ And he hit Bumrah on the very first ball,” Pathan said.
Making the Best Think
What impressed Pathan the most was not just the sixes, but the impact they had on Bumrah himself.
''The way Bumrah had no plans visible, the way he moved to the slower one - Vaibhav Suryavanshi has forced even Bumrah to think. In white-ball cricket, India has not found a bowler like Bumrah. He is a GOAT. And this feat has been achieved against him,'' he added.
Pathan highlighted Bumrah’s stature in world cricket, calling him a once-in-a-generation bowler in white-ball formats, which made Sooryavanshi’s feat even more remarkable.
According to Pathan, the youngster’s fearless mindset is what sets him apart.
“Whatever bowler comes in front of him, he doesn’t overthink or focus on the action. He watches the ball and, if it’s there to be hit, he goes for it. That thinking makes him very special.”
After his explosiveness in the IPL so far, Pathan also wants selectors to stop waiting and hand Vaibhav Sooryavanshi his India cap.
“Don’t make this boy wait too long,” he said. “Give him the Indian team cap. Imagine, this boy can play 20 years of professional cricket. This is scary for bowlers.”
