Kraken's Campbell Won't Return Next Season

Jessica Campbell, the first woman to serve as an on-bench assistant coach in NHL history, will not return to the Seattle Kraken next season, the team announced Thursday.

Seattle Kraken general manager Jason Botterill confirmed that Campbell's contract is expiring and she has expressed a desire to explore other roles around the league. "We support her in this process," Botterill stated.

Campbell has been with the Kraken for four years, having been promoted from the AHL's Coachella Firebirds in 2024. She was retained after the team fired head coach Dan Bylsma and replaced him with Lane Lambert. The Kraken missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons. sport-newz.biz
